Eisenhower Medical Center
A spring ground breaking was held at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage to kick off the building of a new patient wing named the Annenberg Pavilion. Richard De Santis of Event Management Productions was the event’s producer. “The logistics were the biggest challenge because the construction site was already off limits and the only place left for a 120’x160’ tent structure was in the employee and Blood Bank parking area.” said De Santis, in addition “the area is on the main road to the emergency rooms which meant trucks and equipment would have to be closely monitored so there would be NO delays for ambulances.” Shari Kelley Events coordinated the décor for the ground breaking event which consisted of soft yellows and spring flowers to set the ideal mood. Carousel Catering worked with Shari to provide refreshments for the guests. Mrs. Annenberg was the guest of honor for this incredible event which was also attended by Governor Schwarzenegger. A handicap ramp was specially built by Classic for the Governor to access the stage because of a recently broken leg from a skiing accident. In addition to the 120’x160’ structure Classic also erected a 20’x20’ and a 20’x60’ canopy. The Tuscan Chiavari chairs that were chosen perfectly complemented the 19,200 square feet of cream bisque carpet. At the events completion Classic began to strike all equipment in an orderly and quick fashion so parking lots could quickly be returned to the hospital staff.
